Our Philosophy

My New Beginning provides a nurturing place for women to connect with others in the recovery community and to begin rebuilding relationships and friendships that will support them as they begin to grow and discover their incredible talents and abilities. We also help them as they begin to repair damaged relationships with loved ones providing encouragement and support in the process. Through the years My New Beginning has earned the reputation of working well with women who may have had difficulty finding their own path or who have had periods of sobriety but have found themselves slipping back into old patterns of behavior. We respect that everyone’s journey is different and while we work with each woman individually to find what works best for them, we give them the time necessary to build the confidence in their own ability to reclaim and enrich their lives.

This was my second time being at Wendy’s house; the first time I just wasn’t ready. When I came back they welcomed me (and my little doggie) with open arms. Wendy and her staff truly care about the women living in the house and they are rare in that they are truly a dual diagnosis house – they accept women with substance use and mental health issues and understand that they need to be handled differently. Wendy also works with some of the best psychiatrists and sober coaches to make sure that everyone gets the best care.

Our community

My New Beginning’s structure is set up for success. Residents are accountable for their daily activities, attend 12 step meetings (or other recovery based meetings), house meetings  and house dinners. Random drug and alcohol testing ensures a substance free environment. My New Beginning is a community for female identifying clients at any stage of their recovery from drugs, alcohol, and other mental health issues.

  • My New Beginning is close to the beach, Abbott Kinney, 3rd Street Promenade, UCLA and Cedar Sinai Medical Centers, movie theaters, shopping, and restaurants.

  • We help women as they begin to repair damaged relationships with loved ones providing encouragement and support in the process.
